16th Annual General Meeting and the Annual Conference of the IADI
During the period from 8 to 13 October 2017, the Moroccan Deposit Insurance Corporation (SGFG) took part in the 16th Annual General Meeting of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) and the Annual Conference, held in Québec, Canada.
These two events, organized with the support of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers of the Quebec region, were attended by more than 240 participants representing 74 deposit-taking institutions and international financial institutions (IMF, World Bank, Financial Stability Board). These events were another occasion to highlight the importance of the Core Principles in ensuring the effectiveness of deposits insurance schemes with a view to strengthening the protection of depositors and maintaining the financial stability.
The financial inclusion, as another key pillar in promoting customers’ rights, was also discussed during the annual conference.
On the sidelines of these events, several working groups that SGFG is member, held their meeting to finalize their papers before submitting them for public consultation.
